LEFTS LOVERS
Intermediate and Advanced surfers
Do you dream of scoring perfect lefts without crowds? Join us for an unforgettable adventure: we don't discriminate between goofy and regular footers!
After landing in Luanda we will spend 5 days close to one of the best waves of the country, Cabo Ledo. The other 4 nights will be spent on a 4x4 road trip, camping on the beach and looking for uncrowded waves in the south of Angola.
A surf adventure you'll be talking about for years to come.
In Summer, swells from the south-west consistently hit Angola's coastline, producing a wide variety of perfectly peeling left-handers. Think Morocco, but in reverse.
If you're a goofy footer (or you want to improve your backhand surfing) this is the perfect surf trip for you.
We will be traveling around Angola with expert local guides and immersing ourselves in its rich culture.
With 1,500 kilometres of pristine coastline that scoops up southerly swells, Angola offers dreamy conditions and uncrowded surf spots.
Join an international group of intermediate and advanced surfers and share this incredible adventure with likeminded surfers. Did you know that most of our guests are solo travelers?
A team leader from The Surf Tribe will be on the spot with you for the duration of the whole trip.
To this day, there are only around 20 known surf spots in Angola: the potential to find uncrowded surf is very high. Due to the swell and coastline exposures, most of the waves are long left-hand pointbreaks.
The most famous waves are world class level and on most days you will be surfing alone.
During this trip you will spend 5 days in Cabo Ledo and 4 nights on a 4x4 road trip to Sumbe. Expect vast empty spaces, camping on the beach under the stars and waking up to the sound of perfect empty waves breaking.
If you are craving adventure and quality surf, this is the surf trip for you.
As surfers, what pushes us forward is the prospect of finding the waves of our dreams and sharing them with just a few of our friends. Expect 2 to 4 surf sessions every day, depending on the conditions (and your paddle fitness).
Surf endless lefts to work either on your frontside or backside attack and, if you get lucky, on your barrel game too.
Share an incredible adventure with a group of likeminded friends. From the comfort of Cabo Ledo to the wilderness of a road trip to Sumbe, experience the stunning waves and sceneries that make Angola an amazing destination.

With more than 1.600 km of a pristine coastline, surfers can find plenty of empty and uncrowded beaches and endless waves to ride in Angola.
The best season for surfing in Angola starts in May and lasts until middle of October. It's the dry or winter season and swells from the south reach Angola's coast with great consistency, so it's rare to spend a day without catching any waves.
There are not so many surf spots that are on-the-radar, which means that the potential for exploration and crowdless surfing is immense.
Surfer's Beach in Cabo Ledo is probably the most famous wave in Angola (and the most crowded, even though that still means little surfers in the water and mostly on weekends). Situated 120km south of the capital, Luanda, the wave favours small to medium sized swells and can go for up to 800m. It's a predictable and rippable wave that delights both intermediate and advanced surfers.
South of Cabo Ledo, going through Sumbe and all the way to Namibia is a vast amount of left-hand pointbreaks, ready to turn on for any South swell.
